Wood Carving Knives – Set of 5
This set of five premium wood carving knives is ideal for both beginners and intermediate woodcarvers and are an important part of any carver’s tool collection, carving knives can be used in tandem with chisels and gouges for roughing out and fine detailing work or on their own for whittling and chip carving. Each blade is made from a premium quality, hand forged chrome vanadium steel and has been hardened to Rc61 along its entire length, resulting in a blade that will hold and retain a sharp, fine edge, over the life of the tool, without becoming brittle when sharpened. The blade and tang are forged from one piece of steel, which is seated deeply into the knife handle for strength and durability. Each knife has been fully ground and polished and will be ready to use. The handles are made from ash wood which is selected for its straight grain and strength whose shape corresponds to the specific use of each knife.
The set of five contains the following: A spoon knife for hollowing out spoons and similar concave forms; a whittling knife for whittling, general woodworking, and handicrafts; a geometric knife which is designed for cutting geometric patterns into wood, with a blade shape that allows you to cut not only towards yourself but also away from yourself; a chip carving knife which has a straight cutting edge that is ground thin, especially for fine chip cutting and finally a detail carving knife.
